Last weeks I worked with very raw materials: petrified earth, field stones, stones that have crumbled into earth, gravel and lots of beton. We built a floor in a part of an old cave, about 28 square meters. We chopped out a lot of earth and stones (because over the years, some of what was stored on the ground dissolved into some kind of soil), transported most of it into our garden as a foundation for a new vegetable bed, levelled the ground with gravel and concreted the ground.
I have to submit I like working with concrete, as I do with sand and lime and since a few weeks, bitumen.

A beginning cold on the first cool weekend after the summer forced me to rest and so I did almost nothing but read and think. I was shocked how fast this year has already progressed, in the midst of all the work I hardly noticed that now summer is coming to an end.

Sehr viele Menschen kommen irgendwann einmal an den Punkt, wo sie ihre Paarbeziehung hinterfragen. Oft nur aus einem mulmigen Gefühl heraus, dass etwas nicht ganz richtig ist, manchmal, weil einem der andere zunehmend auf die Nerven geht oder auch weil man sich innerlich weit entfernt fühlt von seinem Partner. 

After a long break, filled with plastering lots of walls with stucco and lime, I found some time painting again.
Deeply inspired by Chinese art, I started exploring ink drawing and calligraphy, watched many tutorials about it, went to the amazing exhibition of Fabienne Verdiers’ paintings in Aix en Provence and finally tried it myself.
I skipped my taloche and used new tools, techniques and materials.

So langsam fangen wir ja an mit Reisen, diesmal nun also China. Auslöser für die Reise war die Cloud Conference von Alibaba, hinzu kamen ein paar andere geschäftliche Treffen und so haben wir eine Reise drumherum gestrickt. Je mehr ich nachgelesen habe, desto mehr Ziele kamen auf unsere Reiseliste und am Ende haben wir uns dann entschieden für vier Wochen durch einen kleinen Teil dieses Landes zu reisen. Als Kostprobe, sozusagen.
